Surrogacy is legal in the United Kingdom. There are however strict legal guidelines which must be followed. Under the terms of the Surrogacy Arrangements Act 1985, it is a criminal offence to advertise that you are willing to enter into a surrogacy arrangement.
Surrogacy UK does NOT initiate, negotiate, commission or facilitate surrogacy arrangements.
Most couples and surrogate do not use the services of a solicitor when they are going through a surrogacy arrangement. Some IVF clinics insist they employ a solicitor to take them through the law regarding surrogacy.
